The AppaKids program helps any Appalachian child unlock his or her creative talents by providing activities focused on Appalachian arts and entrepreneurship. The AppaKids initiative also fosters a sense of pride in children for their unique heritage.
Our goal is to elevate all children in Appalachia and provide them equal opportunities to succeed in life. AppaKids activities include programs for all ages from early childhood through college and career. To accomplish this objective, we work with dedicated individuals passionate about improving children's lives including teachers, artists, artisans, farmers, gardeners, craftsmen and many others.
AppaKids activities celebrate arts, heritage and education in counties throughout Appalachia, and they encourage generational family participation. Hands-on skills are taught through mentors with myriad talents. AppaKids events may be stand-alone or coordinated in conjunction with local community fairs and festivals.
